- Large (8×10 – 9×12 ft): the most versatile size for living and dining rooms.

Room tips
- Living room: the front legs of your sofa and chairs should sit on the rug, an 8×10 or 9×12 works in most rooms.
- Dining room: choose a rug large enough that chairs stay on it when pulled out, usually 24 inches beyond the table on all sides.
- Bedroom: a large rug under the bed with 18–24 inches showing on each side feels luxurious.
