This antique Persian Karajeh rug is a striking example of traditional craftsmanship, distinguished by its elegant Tree of Life composition and elongated format. The deep navy blue field serves as a dramatic backdrop for finely rendered floral vines, blossoms, and symbolic motifs that rise vertically through the center of the rug, creating a sense of balance, growth, and continuity.

The lower portion of the field features stylized tree and boteh-inspired forms, while the upper section transitions into a dense lattice of floral elements, demonstrating the weaver’s mastery of pattern control and spacing. The intricate drawing and subtle color transitions give the rug depth and visual movement without overwhelming the design.

A richly detailed border surrounds the field, composed of repeating floral and vine motifs framed by multiple guard borders. Soft ivory, muted rust, and gentle green tones contrast beautifully against the dark ground, enhancing the overall harmony of the piece.

Hand-knotted with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, this rug offers both durability and refined texture. Its long runner-like proportions make it especially suitable for grand hallways, galleries, stair landings, or large formal spaces where a statement piece is desired.

This rug is not only a decorative element but also a collectible example of Persian weaving tradition, valued for its craftsmanship, design symbolism, and timeless presence.
